From May 15 to June 9, a series of one-day educations were held for 35 teachers from 5 different schools on the topic of democratic thinking and its incorporation into teaching and extracurricular activities in primary schools.
The initiative was implemented with the aim of encouraging understanding and implementation of democratic principles and attitudes among teachers, and consequently in children of primary school age.
The training was organized in cooperation with Ivo Kozarčanin Elementary School, Kistanje Elementary School, Ante Kovačić Elementary School, Zlatar Bistrica Primary School, and Krapinske Toplice Primary School, and was conducted by experts with extensive experience in the field of education and democratic engagement from the partner organization FC Adria Solutions d.o.o.
During the training, teachers had the opportunity to participate in lectures and interactive group discussions. The focus of education was on empowering teachers in understanding and applying democratic values in various aspects of school life. Teachers were familiar with teaching methods that encourage critical thinking, active listening, collaboration, and appreciation of different opinions among students.
The positive results of these educations are expected to have long-term effects on school communities and will contribute to building a society that promotes democratic values, equality, and respect for diversity.
The project is financed from the EEA financial mechanism for the period from 2014 to 2021.
