Project Details
The aim of the project “DARoviti u fokusu” is the capacity building of five primary schools for work with gifted pupils in the areas of active citizenship and entrepreneurship, through the improvement of the skills and competencies of teachers and other educators. In addition to education and development of teaching materials, the project envisions the transfer of knowledge and best practices from the Norwegian partner, FC Education Nordic. The areas of entrepreneurship and active citizenship have been selected as most relevant for work with gifted pupils because of their crucial importance for the development of democratic and successful societies and the huge lack of such programs in school curricula in Croatia, especially in less developed, rural areas. The final objective of the project is to raise the quality of life, education and employment prospects of gifted pupils and stimulate their more active engagement with local development.
The „DARoviti u fokusu“ project is financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism for the period 2014 – 2021. The value of the financing provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants is 1 426 729.00 НRК (188 883.00 EUR).
The following activities are previewed to take place:
- Development and implementation of training for educational professionals in primary education to improve their skills and competencies for work with gifted pupils in the fields of entrepreneurship and active citizenship,
- Development of primary education teaching methodology and creation of educational materials for work with gifted pupils in the fields of entrepreneurship and active citizenship,
- Exchange of knowledge and best practices for working with gifted pupils in the fields of entrepreneurship and active citizenship.
The expected project results are:
- Enhanced skills and competencies of 50 educational professionals in 5 primary schools in less developed regions of Croatia for work with gifted pupils in the fields of entrepreneurship and active citizenship.
- Increased private-public interinstitutional cooperation in primary education on the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the areas of entrepreneurship and active citizenship.
- Developed and improved models and practices for working with gifted children in primary education in the fields of entrepreneurship and active citizenship.
