The EEA Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. There are two overall objectives:
- reduction of economic and social disparities in Europe,
- strengthening of bilateral relations between the donor countries and 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics.
The three donor countries cooperate closely with the EU through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The donors have provided €3.3 billion through consecutive grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. For the period 2014-2021, the EEA Grants amount to €1.55 billion. Croatia is entitled to receive EUR 103,4 million in the same period.
The priorities are:

The “DARoviti u fokusi” project is financed under the Local Development and Poverty Reduction Programme of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
The LDPR Programme contributes to the general objectives of EEA Grants 2014-2021, respectively to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and to strengthening bilateral relations between Donor States (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and Beneficiary States (Croatia). It aims to strengthen social and economic cohesion with the emphasis on strengthening support for equal opportunities in primary school education and developing skills and competences transferable to the labour market, including measures in:
- natural sciences (chemistry, physics, nature and society, nature, biology, geography, technical culture) and mathematics
- information and communication technology in education
- entrepreneurship in skills development and increased job prospects
- active citizenship.
